About the role
Mater is seeking two experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse/Team Leaders to join our adult outpatient team on a permanent full-time basis.
This exciting opportunity has arisen due to internal movements and we are seeking passionate registered nursing leaders to combine advanced clinical expertise with operational leadership to drive exceptional patient outcomes and support high-performing teams.
As a Clinical Nurse/Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in coordinating patient care, leading clinical excellence and supporting efficient service delivery. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll help shape innovative models of care while creating an environment that empowers teams to deliver safe, high-quality and patient-centred outcomes.
Salary range: $56.08 - $60.05 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering advanced, evidence-based nursing care that supports exceptional patient outcomes
- Coordinating patient care and facilitating collaborative, multidisciplinary care planning
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and implementing appropriate nursing interventions
- Leading safe, effective continuity of care initiatives to support effective discharge planning
- Acting as a clinical leader and role model to support excellence in practice and team performance
- Supporting operational leadership and coordinating unit activities as delegated by the Nurse Unit Managers
- Managing workloads and contributing to efficient use of clinical and operational resources
- Supporting service improvement initiatives and implementing innovative models of care
- Driving quality, safety and risk management activities to enhance patient experience and outcomes
- Providing mentorship, coaching and professional support to nursing and interdisciplinary team members
- Supporting education initiatives and contributing to capability development across the team
- Building collaborative relationships across clinical and operational stakeholders to achieve service goals
About you
You’re an experienced clinician and confident leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient outcomes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, lead by example and enjoy supporting teams to achieve high-quality care.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Minimum three years’ experience within the relevant clinical specialty
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to coordinate competing priorities
- Strong clinical judgement, problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable (or willingness to work towards):
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty or management
- Experience in Acute Medical/Surgical nursing
- Experience within an outpatient service
- Understanding of Elective Surgery Services standards, Clinical Prioritisation Criteria and Specialist Outpatient Service Implementation Standards (SOSIS)
- Experience using Verdi, iPM and Microsoft Office applications
