About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville has opportunities for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Surgical ward. The successful candidates will be offered Permanent Part Time employment with the flexibility of either 0.6 - 0.8FTE. You will be required to work across a rotating 24/7 roster including early, late, night and weekend shifts. 

The Surgical Unit is a dedicated area caring for people following surgery. The highly skilled and passionate staff provide outstanding patient-centered care to people recovering from relatively minor through to the more complex procedures. Our state-of-the-art theatres and equipment, coupled with leading surgeons and nursing staff, offers our patients the highest quality of care, from admission to discharge.

Salary range: $42.99 - $55.14 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

  • Displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit
  • Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
  • Working with and supporting colleagues within a highly effective skilled team environment,
  • Demonstrating clinical skills and knowledge in the care of surgical patients

About you

To be successful in your application, you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 12 months postgraduate experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Proven clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing care
  • Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximize patient care and outcomes
  • Knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
  • Demonstrates a collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork and the ability to work within the multi-disciplinary team
