Mater is seeking a passionate and relationship-driven GP Liaison Officer to join our team.

In this highly collaborative role, you will act as the vital connection between Mater and General Practitioners. You will foster strong partnerships, enhance communication, and support integrated, patient-centred care by improving referral pathways and engagement with Mater’s clinical services.

Working closely with clinicians, hospital leaders and external stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our presence within the primary care community and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes.

Salary range: $54.57 - $59.38 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with GPs, Practice Managers and Primary Health Networks
  • Promote Mater’s services, models of care and specialist capabilities
  • Improve referral pathways and support continuity of care
  • Develop and deliver GP engagement strategies, events and education initiatives
  • Act as the key point of contact for GP engagement
  • Provide insights and reporting to support service planning and growth
  • Support private patient growth through targeted engagement activities 

About you 

You are a natural relationship builder with a strong understanding of the healthcare landscape. You thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy influencing and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders. 

To be successful, you will demonstrate: 

  • Experience in healthcare stakeholder engagement, liaison, or business development roles
  • Strong knowledge of the primary care environment and GP networks
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with clinicians and practice managers
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information clearly
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends to support service growth
  • A proactive, professional approach with sound judgement
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in health, communications, or stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working within or alongside the healthcare sector
  • Current driver’s licence (regional travel required)
