About the role

Mater’s Digital Technology and Information (DTI) department has an exciting opportunity for a SQL Server Specialist to join the team. The opportunity will be offered on a full-time maximum term basis for 12 months.

The SQL Specialist is a key member of the team responsible for supporting and enhancing the SQL Server integration platforms that underpin critical business applications across Mater. Working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, the role provides specialist expertise in SQL Server system integration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement to ensure services remain secure, reliable and aligned with business requirements. 

Please note, to be eligible for this position, Candidates will need to either hold Permanent Residency to Australia, Australian or New Zealand Citizen.

Salary range: $62.74 - $67.20 (MCAS6) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

• Work collaboratively within a team to deliver professional, timely and effective database and integration support services, including the investigation and resolution of complex technical issues. 
• Design, develop, implement and support integration solutions that enable reliable, secure and efficient data exchange across complex healthcare systems and applications. 
• Provide technical advice and support to internal teams and business stakeholders on SQL Server based integration solutions, including implementation approaches. 
• Analyse, diagnose and resolve complex SQL, integration and system-related issues, applying advanced troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Translate and communicate technical concepts, solutions and risks to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and understandable manner. 
• Apply specialist SQL Server and integration expertise to support the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of critical technology services. 
• Operate within the Information Technology service management framework (ITIL), managing incidents, service requests and problem resolution activities in accordance with agreed service levels.

About you

• A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent relevant experience.  
• Demonstrated experience (5+ years preferred) in Microsoft SQL Server and technical support.  
• Proven experience with SQL Server technologies including SSIS, SSRS and SSAS, with strong SQL development and integration skills.  
• Experience designing, developing and supporting enterprise data and integration solutions.  
• An understanding of ITIL principles and their application within operational support environments.  
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.  
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
