About the role
Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking an experienced Administration Coordinator to join our team in a full-time, permanent position.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide operational leadership across one of Queensland's newest and fastest-growing hospital campuses, supporting both Mater Hospital Springfield and Mater Private Hospital Springfield. Working in partnership with the Administration Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading administration teams, driving operational excellence, improving processes, and ensuring exceptional service for patients, clinicians and visitors in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Salary range: $54.57 - $59.38 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a key operational leader, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of administrative services while supporting continuous improvement, workforce leadership and operational performance. Responsibilities will include:
- Lead, mentor and support a team of Senior Administration Officers and Administration Officers
- Coordinate day-to-day administrative operations across multiple clinical areas
- Manage rostering, leave planning, workforce capability and staff development
- Partner with the Administration Manager to implement and improve administrative processes and workflows
- Drive high standards of patient-facing customer service and administrative excellence
- Monitor data quality, compliance and reporting to support safe, efficient operations
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, patient flow and financial performance
- Lead and support quality improvement and change initiatives across administration services
- Build strong collaborative relationships with clinical and operational leaders across the hospital
- Ensure resources are effectively managed to support patient care and organisational outcomes.
About you
You're an experienced administration leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You enjoy leading people, solving problems, improving processes and building high-performing teams that deliver exceptional service.
You will also have:
- Extensive experience in a complex administrative environment, ideally within healthcare
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing administrative teams
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and make sound operational decisions under pressure
- Strong leadership skills with experience implementing change and driving continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams
- High-level organisational, planning and problem-solving skills
- Strong financial and operational awareness, with experience managing resources efficiently
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn new systems (experience with iPM or Verdi is highly regarded)
- Tertiary qualifications in business, leadership or a related discipline will be highly regarded, although not essential.
