About the Role
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused Administrator to join our team in a Permanent Part-Time position. In this role, you will work 32 hours per week across a seven-day roster , providing high-quality administrative support while contributing to the delivery of exceptional service for our patients, visitors and clinical teams.
Working closely with the Administration Team Leader/Manager and wider multidisciplinary team, you will proactively manage a range of administrative, business support and coordination activities. You will work with a degree of autonomy, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on patient experience, data quality, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What You'll Be Doing
Providing a high level of administrative support to clinical and operational teams.
Delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, medical practitioners and staff.
Managing reception activities, including patient admissions and discharges.
Conducting health fund eligibility checks and processing patient payments.
Supporting bookings, appointments, admissions and course enrolments.
Assisting with banking reconciliation, purchasing and inventory management.
Coordinating maintenance requests and general operational support activities.
Performing clinical transcription, records management and patient information requests.
Monitoring and maintaining data quality, identifying and correcting discrepancies as required.
Supporting rostering activities in line with relevant work instructions and enterprise agreements.
About You
Exceptional customer service skills and a patient-centred approach.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse information to identify issues and implement solutions.
Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and healthcare information systems.
Well-developed problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills.
Experience working within a hospital, healthcare or medical setting (desirable)
Knowledge of health information systems and patient administration processes.
