Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join our 28-bed Acute General Medical Ward in permanent full-time and part-time positions.

Based at our Springfield campus, you'll be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare as Mater Hospital Springfield opened in early 2026. This state-of-the-art facility has been designed to meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield community, providing a mix of public and private services across intensive care, maternity, emergency, medical and surgical care, and supporting more than 200,000 patient episodes each year.

You'll be supported to develop your clinical expertise while delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care, advocating for patients, and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes in a collaborative environment that values continuous learning and excellence.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent clinical outcomes. You will:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients with a broad range of acute medical conditions.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care.
  • Advocate for patients while supporting their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with medical, allied health and nursing teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold professional, legal and ethical standards.
  • Promote patient safety by adhering to infection prevention, quality improvement and organisational policies.
  • Participate in mentoring students and less experienced staff while contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

You are a caring and adaptable Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and enjoys working as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team. You will bring:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced acute environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and patient experience.
  • Passion for continuous learning, professional development and quality improvement.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues while contributing to a supportive team environment.
