About the role
Join the Mater Cancer Care Centre as a Senior Administration Officer at Mater Hospital Brisbane , in this part-time, permanent position working 19 hours per week . You’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the service, delivering exceptional support to patients, families and staff while contributing to an efficient, collaborative and patient-focused environment.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Working with the broader administration team, you’ll provide high-quality administrative support and help ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of service operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing senior administrative and reception support, including patient and health fund enquiries
Supporting patient admissions, discharges, bookings and payments
Completing banking reconciliation, purchasing and inventory control activities
Coordinating maintenance requests and supporting clinical transcription and patient information requests
Maintaining accurate records and identifying and correcting basic data quality issues
Supporting the coordination of meetings and events, including agendas, minutes and action items
Contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture and exceptional patient experience
Working with a degree of autonomy while following established procedures and guidelines
About you
You’re an experienced administrator who thrives in a busy healthcare environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, responsive and patient-focused service. You’ll bring:
Experience in a senior administration or business support role; healthcare experience is highly desirable
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience using health information systems or equivalent
Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities within tight timeframes
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
The ability to work autonomously, use initiative and make sound decisions
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions
A calm, positive and adaptable approach, particularly during periods of change
A genuine commitment to patient-centred service and delivering an exceptional experience
