About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking experienced Scrub/Scout Registered Nurses to join our perioperative team at Hyde Park. As a Monday to Friday day surgery service operating between 7:00am and 9:00pm , our Hyde Park facility offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment that values flexibility, wellbeing, and work-life balance.

Our Hyde Park campus is home to a modern four‑theatre complex supporting a diverse range of specialties, including ophthalmology, pain management, dental, general surgery, and a small but growing volume of urogynecology and urology.
Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Our Perioperative Registered Nurses use extensive experience to provide essential support to our patients and Clinical Nurses in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the department and assist with the progression of service improvement.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
Provide effective management of post anaesthesia and postoperative complications
Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic area.
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
Experience working as a nurse within a perioperative speciality
ALS Certification desirable
Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision making skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
