About the role

Mater is seeking a talented and experienced Manager, Graphic Design to lead our brand and visual communications function. 

Salary range: $124,394 per annum plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing 

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for translating Mater’s brand and communications strategy into high quality, consistent and impactful design across digital and print channels. You’ll lead a small specialist team, manage design workflows and partner with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver compelling visual solutions that support our mission and strategic priorities.

Lead and manage the graphic design function, ensuring high quality outputs across all channels

  • Oversee design workflows, priorities and resourcing to meet organisational needs
  • Provide expert advice on visual communication and brand application
  • Ensure consistent adherence to brand guidelines, accessibility and design standards
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools and capability
  • Manage external suppliers and creative partners to deliver value and quality outcomes
  • Act as the escalation point for design risk, compliance and reputational considerations
  • Coach and develop your team, fostering a high performing and collaborative culture

About you 

You’re a creative leader who combines strong design capability with operational excellence and strategic thinking. 

  • Proven experience leading a graphic design or creative team in a complex organisation
  • Strong expertise in brand management and visual identity systems
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality outputs
  • Ability to balance creative direction with operational delivery
  • Experience in healthcare, not-for-profit or other service based environments (desirable)
  • Leadership or management qualifications (desirable)
