About the role

Mater is looking for an exceptional Executive Support Officer to provide high-level support to both the Executive Director, Mater Hospitals and Chief Medical Officer, and senior leaders across one of Queensland's largest and most respected healthcare organisations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside executive leaders who are shaping the future of hospital services and healthcare delivery.

Based in South Brisbane (with occasional days at Newstead), you will be a trusted partner to senior executives, ensuring seamless operations across complex clinical and operational portfolios. No two days will be the same as you navigate competing priorities, coordinate executive activities, and play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives that make a real difference to our patients, staff and community.

This role is suited to an experienced executive support professional who enjoys working in a highly complex environment and takes pride in being across every detail. You'll be someone who can anticipate issues before they arise, exercise sound judgement, and confidently manage multiple competing priorities while supporting senior leaders responsible for delivering essential healthcare services

Salary range: $93,103 - $102,572 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

This is more than a traditional executive assistant position. As an Executive Support Officer, you will operate as an extension of the executive team, providing expert coordination, communication and organisational support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Manage complex executive priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Provide seamless coordination of executive, governance and leadership activities.
  • Deliver high-quality correspondence, reports, presentations and board papers.
  • Support strategic initiatives and execution of key organisational priorities.
  • Anticipate requirements, manage competing demands and resolve issues proactively.
  • Track critical actions, risks and commitments to ensure delivery.
  • Partner effectively with executive, clinical and operational leaders.
  • Exercise sound judgement in managing sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Produce accurate, professional and detail-oriented executive outputs.
  • Drive continuous improvement and excellence in executive support services.

  • Significant experience supporting senior executives within a large and complex organisation.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • The confidence to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities and act with sound judgement.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
