About the role

Mater Private Hospital Redland is seeking a Housekeeping Attendant to join our Support Services team on a casual basis. With shifts available across a 7-day roster (Day shift from 6:30am to 6:00pm and Night cleaning from 6:00pm to 02:00am), this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in making a meaningful difference behind the scenes.

No two days are the same in this varied role. From maintaining patient rooms and clinical areas, to assisting with patient transport and supporting the smooth operation of hospital services, you'll be an important part of a collaborative team that is committed to exceptional care.

Salary range: $32.82 – $35.39 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will play a vital role in supporting both patients and clinical teams by helping to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming hospital environment. Every day, your work will contribute to the comfort, wellbeing and overall experience of our patients, while supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

In this role, you will:

• Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff
• Support patient care through the safe transport of patients throughout the hospital
• Assist with the movement of medical equipment, supplies and other essential resources
• Undertake cleaning duties across patient rooms, public areas, operating theatres and clinical spaces
• Support infection prevention and control practices to help maintain a safe healthcare environment
• Manage linen, waste and sharps disposal in accordance with hospital procedures
• Work closely with clinical and support teams to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospital
• Contribute to a positive team culture and a commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional service

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a reliable and motivated team player who takes pride in delivering high standards of service and maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.

You will also demonstrate:

• Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including day and night shifts
• A current Australian Driver's Licence (mandatory)
• Previous experience in an orderly, cleaning, hospitality, support services or similar role (healthcare experience highly regarded)
• Experience operating cleaning equipment such as carpet cleaners, steam cleaners and floor scrubbers/polishers, or the ability to quickly learn
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• A commitment to workplace health and safety, infection prevention and maintaining a respectful and inclusive workplace
