Clinical Nurse - Stomal Therapy

About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse to join the Stomal Therapy team on permanent part-time basis (38 hours per fortnight).

Our team of industry professionals work together as a cohesive and collaborative unit, going above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of care and deliver the highest level of clinical standards for the patient and the unit.

Salary range: $44.08 – $47.23 (RN Level 2) per hour plus superannuation

What you’ll be doing

As a valued member of the team you will:

  • Demonstrate an expert patient-centred consultancy service to a diverse patient population, providing quality care to patients with stomas, wounds & skin integrity issues
  • Apply advanced Stomal Therapy and Wound Management knowledge and clinical skills to achieve quality and excellence
  • Work autonomously and as part of the team aligning practice with unit, department and corporate business and strategic goals
  • Assist with the provision of education for staff to maintain currency and proficiency of clinical knowledge within the Specialty
  • Collaborate and liaise with multi-disciplinary teams internally and externally to ensure optimal patient outcomes promoting best practice

About you

To be successful in your application you will have: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Post Graduate qualification in Stomal Therapy and/or Wound Management or willingness to work toward
  • Extensive clinical experience in areas encompassing wound and/or stoma challenges
  • Demonstrated recency in professional development activities in regards to stomal therapy and/or wound care
  • Demonstrated ability to work to top of scope with highly developed critical thinking and troubleshooting ability
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Sound computer skills, especially operating Microsoft programs
