About the role 

Mater Health is seeking a dedicated and motivated Neurosurgical Fellow to join our highly regarded Neurosurgery team for a 12-month Clinical and Research Fellowship. This unique opportunity will provide advanced training in spinal and neurosurgical care while supporting the development of clinical, surgical and research expertise. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!   

What you’ll be doing 

As a Neurosurgical Fellow, you will: 

• Participate in operating theatre and specialist clinic sessions with consultant supervision. 

• Provide high-quality patient care through daily ward rounds and multidisciplinary collaboration. 

• Develop advanced skills in the assessment, diagnosis and management of spinal and neurosurgical conditions. 

• Undertake neurosurgery-related research and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives. 

• Support the education and supervision of junior medical staff and students. 

About you 

To be successful, you will possess: 

• A medical degree and current AHPRA registration (or eligibility for registration). 

• FRACS or an equivalent qualification. 

• Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills. 

• A genuine interest in further developing expertise in spine and neurosurgery. 

• Previous research experience will be highly regarded.
