About the role
The Mater Pathology has an opportunity available for an experienced Administration Officer to join our call centre. The successful applicant will be offered a Casual position. Call Centre is open from 7am – 8pm Monday – Sunday, where you will be required to have availability to work all shifts including weekends and public holidays.
The purpose of this position is to provide an efficient and effective and professional service for customers, patients and staff of the Mater Pathology. The Anatomical Pathology division provides all the anatomic pathology services for the Mater Public and Private Hospitals as well as referrals from community medical centres and other hospitals.
Salary range: $38.81 - $ 43.16 (MCA3) per hour plus Superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this position you will be responsible for the following:
- Managing a high volume of calls and inquiries for Pathology and resolve or redirect to the appropriate department / staff member / extension
- Organising home visits for patients
- Liaise with couriers for pickups where required
- Updating of patient information
- Carry out administrative duties as required
- Contribute to and maintain an efficient, productive and positive workplace and communicate and co-operate with fellow workers to promote teamwork within the department
- Attend/participate in regular, both singular and work team meetings to review current work practices and participate in appropriate developmental courses
About you
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Data entry and call centre experience
- Proficient computer and typing skills and ability to utilise multiple computer systems
- A commitment to excellent service and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member
- A demonstrated commitment to the Mater Mission and values
- Understanding of medical and pathology terminology
