About the role
Mater is currently looking for a Guest Services Coordinator to join the team on a permanent full time basis, located at South Brisbane.
The Guest Services Coordinator plays a key role in the delivery of exceptional service and support for the cleaning and Linen functions ensuring the provision of customer-focused, comprehensive, cost effective and quality services to all Mater Group employees, patients and external customers.
Salary range: $47.87 - $50.49 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Accountable and responsible for the effective coordination of cleaning and linen functions and day to day operations, within delegated levels of responsibility and governed by Mater policies, objectives and budgets.
- Plans, organises, assigns, and supervises the work of several diversified personnel engaged in services.
- To ensure that the required levels of service are maintained through effective staff management.
- To ensure that required training for all staff reporting to them is compliant.
- To assist the manager to formulate, implement and maintain the policies and procedures relevant to the Mater Hospital and to ensure relevant legislation and guidelines are known and followed.
- Ensures services are aligned to all legislative compliance requirements and infectious control compliance for the purpose of complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.
- Ensure a high standard and quality of cleanliness throughout the entire hospital including the cleanliness of patient rooms, consulting suites, theatre complexes, offices, and general areas of the hospital.
- Maintain and document regular cleaning activities and ensures that all regular cleaning activities are documented, adhered to and included in periodic services schedule of routine tasks.
- Actively manages,
alongside the Guest Services Manager, divisional strategic and operational budget, resource assets and leave requirements/liabilities to deliver strong financial performance.
- Contributes to strategic decision-making and identifies strategic and operational opportunities for improved financial outcomes
- Manages compliance and risk, in part by ensuring direct reports fulfil mandatory and professional competency requirements, that audits are completed in a timely fashion and endorsed recommendations implemented, and that risks assigned to your departmental, team receive prompt and effective action.
- Identifies, reports, responds to and rectifies workplace health and safety (WHS) concerns from within own reporting structure.
- Ensure that services provided by external contractors relevant to cleaning and linen are delivered effectively.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with contractor personnel & management.
- Actively liaise with external contracted cleaning and linen services to ensure quality standards and contractual agreements are maintained.
About you
- Demonstrate proven experience in managing and leading a team, ideally with Health / Aged Care or Hotel management experience in housekeeping or cleaning
- High-level ability to balance conflicting demands efficiently within tight
- timeframes, demonstrating excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Sound experience in change management with the ability to lead and implement change in line with best practice change processes, adapting to evolving requirements as necessary.
- Experience in budget management of labour and non-labour costs and experience in identifying opportunities for improved financial performance.
- Ability to ensure that all functions within their responsible services achieve standards and meet key performance indicators.
- Experience in quality improvement and meeting national standards
