About the role

We are currently seeking a professional and an experienced Clinical Nurse for an exciting role based at our South Brisbane campus in Neurosciences. This position will be offered as a permanent part time or full-time opportunity working 32-38 hours a week on a permanent basis.

Mater Centre for Neurosciences is a world class service which provides specialist care for stroke, epilepsy, neurosurgery, neurology and spinal surgery and has a multi-disciplinary approach with an exceptional team of surgeons, physicians, nurses and allied health professionals working together to provide the highest level of care for our patients. 

Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

This role will see you responsible for the management of clinical care and the coordination of the nursing team as shift leader supported by the Nurse Unit Manager. You will provide direct expert neuroscience care and provide high level support to staff and patients. 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Minimum 3 years post-graduate neurosciences experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times 

While not essential, applicants who currently have or are studying towards a tertiary qualification within this clinical speciality would be highly regarded.
