Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for a Manager Supply Chain Operations to join us in a permanent, full-time role. Based predominantly at our Mater Hospital Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s first new public hospital in over 60 years, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

The Manager Supply Chain Operations is part of a centralised Mater Supply Chain Operations team, which is focused on building collaborative, customer-focused relationships and adopting a business partnering approach.

Salary range: $124,394 - $133,248 (MCA6) per annum plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

The Manager Supply Chain Operations leads and supports large teams to achieve site performance goals aligned with organisational expectations, driving the adoption of new ways of working and standardised processes enabled by technology.

  • Oversee warehousing and distribution activities including inventory control, purchasing, receiving, picking, dispatch and returns, maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand expectations, gather insights and proactively improve supply chain performance and customer service standards.
  • Manage staff rostering, daily performance and capability development, including coaching on change management and supporting ongoing team development.
  • Coordinate supply inputs for hospital business planning and collaborate across functions to support operational and service outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage stocktaking activities, resolve inventory discrepancies and implement improvements to prevent overstocking and reduce financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety guidelines, industry legislation and Mater policies, promoting standardised processes and governance adherence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying ERP system enhancements, process automation opportunities and supporting the transition to new operating models.
  • Manage warehouse budgets, collaborate with Finance to implement cost-saving measures and monitor financial impacts related to inventory management.
  • Foster a positive team culture aligned with Mater Group values, promote the organisation internally and externally and contribute to cross-training and centralisation efforts.

About you

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Purchasing or Inventory Management, or equivalent. You will also meet the below criteria:

  • Proven team leadership experience, preferably within large and complex organisations.
  • Experience in supply chain operations, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong capability in leading and managing change effectively.
  • Solid knowledge of ERP systems or warehousing and inventory management platforms.
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Office, online collaboration tools, and project/workflow management applications.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Committed to engaging and leading people through change initiatives.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement and delivering high-quality supply chain services.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills to meet client expectations.
  • Active commitment to personal wellbeing and promoting health, safety, and environmental performance.
