About the role

Ready to play a pivotal role in one of Mater’s most exciting transformation projects? Mater Group is seeking an experienced, proactive and relationship driven Senior Project Manager to play a critical role in a major healthcare systems transition and integration program.   

Reporting to the Stream Lead, Systems and Data within the IT & Data workstream, you will lead the delivery of the application transition scope, covering both clinical and corporate systems.  You will ensure applications are safely separated, transitioned, and integrated into Mater’s environment, with minimal disruption to patient care and business operations.   

This is your chance to support a complex, high-profile program requiring strong cutover expertise, delivery leadership, and the ability to operate confidently in a healthcare environment.  This is a full-time, 12-month maximum term contract based at our Newstead office (QLD) but you may be required to work from other Mater locations on an ad hoc basis. 

This role will see you effectively engage and negotiate with important stakeholders, create project delivery strategies, establish and oversee benefits management plans, understand customer needs, provide progress reports, and proactively address areas of underperformance. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage the successful transition delivery of end-to-end clinical and corporate applications. 
  • Plan and deliver application separation, migration, replacement, or decommissioning activities aligned to the integrated systems and data cutover strategy. 
  • Ensure system transitions are planned and executed with a strong focus on patient safety, continuity of care, and operational stability.  Design and develop project components, including communications and impact assessments 
  • Execute application cutover activities in accordance with governance, controls, and timelines established by the Stream Lead, Systems and Data. 
  • Work closely with data and integration teams to ensure coordinated, end-to-end cutover across applications, data, and interfaces. 
  • Identify, manage, and escalate application specific risks, issues, and dependencies, particularly those impacting clinical services or hospital operations. 
  • Engage with clinical application owners, corporate system owners, SMEs, and vendors across both Healthscope and Mater. 
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer and handover to Mater operational and application support teams. 
  • Support cutover rehearsals, readiness assessments, and go/no-go decision processes. 
  • Oversee post cutover stabilisation and hyper care activities. 
  • Drive a fit for purpose change management strategy using a structured methodology and leadership of change management activities working closely with the Enterprise Change Manager. 

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have extensive project management experience delivering application transitions across clinical and/or enterprise corporate systems in complex environments, with: 

  • Proven experience working within integrated systems and data cutover programs. 
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including working across multiple organisations and professional groups. 
  • Strong vendor management, problem solving, and delivery leadership capabilities. 
  • Ability to set strategic direction and operational plans for projects. 
  • Certificate/Diploma in Project Management or Prince2 Certification. 
  • Experience in change management and business readiness. 
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills. 
  • Healthcare experience or exposure to regulated environments is highly regarded.
