Position: Infection Control Facilitator

Applications are sought for an Infection Control Facilitator at the Mater Private Hospital Mackay.
Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 (RN2) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging of up to $15900 per annum.
About the role
The Infection Control Facilitator (“ICF”) shall undertake responsibility of the development of programs, policies and processes that align and comply with contemporary infection control practices, applicable legislative regulations, and standards. The ICF shall collaborate with Departments and Quality Manager to ensure initiatives and programs are consistent and applicable to the Hospital operational and strategic objectives.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, manage, and evaluate governance of infection prevention and control systems, related programs, and services.
- Design, coordinate implementation and undertake evaluation of the healthcare facility’s infection prevention and control program and policies in compliance with the respective state and national accreditation, licensing, policy, or regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert infection prevention consultancy and strategic direction to the healthcare facility.
- Assist on decisions on facility construction and design, patient placement ratios and environmental assessments.
About you
Demonstrating the necessary qualifications and knowledge of the AS/NZS 4187:2014 and AS/NZ 5369 and the NSQHS standards associated with the preventing and controlling of healthcare associated infections are key features of the role. Mater will discuss options for financial and educational support to you in attaining this criterion while you work in the role. Other professional features include:
- Current and ongoing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse; and
- Ability to demonstrate clinical and critical problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the implementation and ongoing management of NSQHS Standard 3 – Preventing & Controlling Infections.
