Mater Research are looking for a Project Manager to join the team! This part time (30.4hrs per week) maximum term, 11-month contract (ending 30th June 2026) role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

What you’ll be doing
The Queensland Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability and Autism Health (QCEIDAH), in partnership with UNSW, is part of a Consortium that has established the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health, supported by the Australian Government. The National Centre aims to drive innovation and collaboration in intellectual disability health, improve service capabilities, and lead initiatives in data and research. The Project Manager's role will be crucial in supporting the Health Service Development team at QCEIDAH, coordinating research projects, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based healthcare for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Reporting into the Research Lead, the Project Manager at QCEIDAH will lead research and health and mental health projects, ensuring they align with timelines, budgets, and ethical standards. They will facilitate collaboration across teams, supervise staff, and oversee project operations, including ethics applications and stakeholder consultations. The Project Manager will also engage with stakeholders to guide translational research efforts, manage data systems, and maintain relationships with partners. In addition, they will monitor project risks, contribute to research publications, and support the promotion of high-quality healthcare.
About you
The successful candidate will have a Tertiary qualification in Health and previous experience or understanding of disability, health and/or mental health sector in Australia. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex research or healthcare projects
- Proven operational leadership skills in dynamic environments
- Knowledge of healthcare needs and systemic barriers for marginalized populations
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration across diverse teams
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Commitment to promoting the mission of the Mater Group and Mater Research Institute
- Experience in preparing and submitting ethics and governance applications in a clinical setting, desirable
- Experience supporting individuals with lived experience in workplace settings, desirable
- Experience co-facilitating workshops for meaningful involvement
