About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane Emergency Care Centre (MECC) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the team in multiple permanent part-time positions, with flexibility across hours and shifts. These roles are available to commence as soon as possible.

The Emergency Care Centre provides a 24-hour comprehensive emergency service for adult patients and is staffed by experienced emergency doctors, nurses, training registrars and house officers. The department delivers care for a full range of acute illnesses and injuries including Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Orthopaedic and Gynaecological emergencies. The success of the unit is driven by a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration and clinical excellence.

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking dynamic and adaptable Registered Nurses who thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes across the patient journey and continuum of care
  • Demonstrating strong clinical expertise in the assessment, management and treatment of emergency presentations
  • Implementing quality and risk management strategies within daily practice
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary emergency team to deliver high-quality care
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to support ongoing professional development

About you

To be successful in your application, you will have:

  • A minimum of 12 months documented post-graduate experience working in an Emergency Department setting
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication, clinical judgement and time management skills
  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights and weekends
