Mater is looking for a Medical Education Administration Officer to join the Medical Education Unit! This maximum-term role (until May 2025) will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

Salary range: $36.51 - $40.81 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

To provide administrative support to the Medical Education Unit (MEU) for the coordination and efficient functioning of all Medical Education programs and activities. Administration support includes, but is not limited to:

  • To provide administration support to the MEU for the formal education programs for Medical Officers (Interns, Junior House Officers, Senior House Officers, Critical Care Senior House Officers)
  • To provide support with administration functions relating to orientation programs for Medical Officers (Interns, Junior House Officers, Senior House Officers, Critical Care Senior House Officers, Registrars, Principal House Officers, Fellows, and some Senior Medial Officers). This includes managing relationships with external sponsors.
  • To coordinate, review and provide Intern Completion Certificates in collaboration with the Medical Education Officers and Director Clinical Training prior to forwarding to AHPRA
  • To prepare meeting agendas and minutes in collaboration with Director Medical Education and Workforce
  • To provide high quality and confidential (where required) administrative support to the Director of Clinical Training (DCT), Director Medical Education and Workforce and Medical Education Officers (MEOs)
  • Work within Mater systems to track, monitor and ensure compliance with due process for Education session attendance, feedback, and planning.
  • Support MEU with all reporting functions for accreditation requirements.
  • Provide customer service and support to Junior Medical officers; manage and distribute MEU generic email and phone line.
  • Prepare and provide letters of rotation, and evidence of satisfactory work performance to junior medical officers.
  • Act as formal secretariat to Medical Education Committee meetings

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Highly experienced in providing administration support would be a great advantage
  • A solid understanding of the medical structure would be a great advantage
  • High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities from multiple stakeholders
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
